Supporting

'Ask For Angela'

We’ve teamed up with Safer Sounds (part of the Safer Business Network) to encourage venues to sign up to & support the ‘Ask For Angela’ campaign. As part of this initiative, we are hosting an online panel event, providing discounted Welfare Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) training & adding ‘Ask For Angela’ badges to venues on the OrderPay app once they have completed training.

Read on to find out how your venue can benefit from 50% off WAVE training & get your ‘Ask For Angela’ badge.

How can I get involved?

Safer Sounds, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service, created the WAVE Programme which includes WAVE Training & the ‘Ask for Angela’ Scheme. WAVE training aims to increase the skills, knowledge & confidence of venue staff & security teams to identify the signs of customer vulnerability & make appropriate interventions, reducing violence and coercion, and keeping customers safe.

Get 50% off WAVE training

OrderPay customers can benefit from early access to discounted WAVE training – £125 instead of £250*

Venues that complete WAVE training will be recognised with an ‘Ask For Angela’ badge within the OrderPay app, which also doubles as an information point for customers in need of help.

Free online panel event

We are co-hosting a free webinar with Safer Sounds on the importance of customer safety in hospitality. A panel of industry experts will explore the best ways to train staff to support potentially vulnerable customers.

‘ASK FOR ANGELA’ is a consumer-facing initiative that allows anyone who feels they are in an unsafe situation to ask staff for help using the code word “Angela”, allowing them to access discreet help quickly and safely.

Once a vulnerable person uses the code-phrase, trained staff are required to support and assist them with an appropriate intervention.

WAVE PROGRAMME – Safer Sounds, in partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service, created the WAVE Programme which includes WAVE Training & the ‘Ask for Angela’ Scheme. WAVE training aims to increase the skills, knowledge & confidence of venue staff & security teams to identify the signs of customer vulnerability & make appropriate interventions, reducing violence and coercion, and keeping customers safe.

* The WAVE training fee will be reduced from £250 to £125 for any operator who registers interest through OrderPay before 28th February 2022. Offer limited to one venue per brand for multi-site operators. Training slots are in high demand & 100 slots are released each month. We are able to offer this discounted rate as OrderPay is subsiding the remainder of the costs, making this one of the lowest rates available for this training programme.

SAFER SOUNDS is the sole administrator of the ‘Ask For Angela’ campaign, which they run in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service, and OrderPay is the only official order & pay partner of Safer Sounds and the Safer Business Network.
